Hello my name is Autumn Rosefield and I am going to start my story with what I am doing here and the type of things I am going to share with you here at “IN” sights through Autumn. Then I will continue my story in a series of posts telling you about myself in 7 year chunks, since they say we make major changes in life every 7 years. Hopefully It won’t take me 7 years to write.
To start with the main purpose of this Blog is to show you some of the more hidden away places and things to do in the Los Cabos, Baja California, MEXICO , since that is where I am and am connected to real life, behind and in the tourist scene. I call it “In” sights through Autumn because I will also be posting content for my local tribe of wonderful people that have a variety of great, fun, valuable information and tips on how to get the most out of your visit here.
We will help you get your foot in the door to any desire you may be looking for, such as Food, Fashion, Adventure, Romance,and Wellness where to find the best deals,Events in the area and things people are doing concerning the Environment, etc.
A lot of us, like myself, have been living here for around twenty years and have watched what used to be faraway sleepy mexican pueblos with huge spacious white beaches, incredible sea life, and sweet real people, turn to a major tourist destination with big fancy hotels, tons of parties and activities for all ages, new marinas, traffic, restaurants and shopping everywhere you turn. Not only do we have more tourists visiting, but people from all over Mexico have moved here to work.
Now when someone arrives here they are bombarded with a multitude of choices and persuaded to go on condo sales tours for free breakfast, rental car etc. It can be overwhelming sometimes instead of welcoming. That is one of the reasons I would like to provide a place where you can find recommendations from the people that really know the “Ins” and “Outs”, because they have lived them.
My best travel experiences have been when I have connected with a family or just nice helpful locals of the place I am visiting. To be shown their favorite swimming holes or have a traditional local meal cooked after watching the kids catch the fish for it. Being invited to private ceremonies or traditional events have made me feel special and part of new family and friends. Those are just a few of the things that create lasting and quality memories.

While doing the rounds around town recently, I have notice a few new improvements, like new garbage cans and lots of new blue handicap ramps and parking areas.
But one discovery we made was the Wirikuta Cactus Park.
Sitting on the other side of the New bridge to La Playita.
It is a nice peaceful place to take a stroll and check out the cool cactus arrangements. Here is a little video to give you a peek..
The whales were there to greet us and bless another wonderful weekend of sun and surf. Here is a video of the finales…condensed to 10 minutes.

We recently had the pleasure of visiting the amazing oasis, water park, “WET FUN” in Caduano, Baja Sur, Mexico. This is one of those places that is a bit of a secret to the tourist crowd since it is about a half an hour north of the San Jose airport and most people are headed the other way towards Cabo. Even the locals are just really discovering this treasure in the back yard.
I was going to add my commentary to the video, but decided to just leave the ambient sounds of the water and the children so you can get more of a feel for the atmosphere there. There are areas for all ages including a kiddy pool, a pool for the medium kids and the big fast slides for the bigger thrill seekers. Even grandmas like going there to relax in the green lush park. As you can observe from the panoramic view at the top of the slides, we are in a virtual oasis.
They are open Thursday through Sunday from 10:ooam to 6:00pm, entrance fee 150 pesos for adults and 100 pesos for children.
There are food and beverages available at reasonable prices. Like burgers, pizza, ceviche, ice cream etc… They do ask that you do not bring your own ice chest of refreshments, even though the grounds make you feel like having a picnic on the lawn.
Not only is it fun and relaxing but it is also good excercise climbing those stairs. You can tell everyone leaves content and ready for a good nights sleep by the way they all casually stroll out to the car at the end of the day. And there is something about the breeze in those trees…
